Justice Mohd. Akram Chowdhary

Justice Mohd. Akram Chowdhary was born on 10th of June 1965 in village Thuroo of Tehsil Thuroo, District Reasi; Had his early education in Govt. High School, Thuroo and Govt. Higher Secondary school Reasi; Graduated from Govt. Moulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu; Did his LLB from University of Jammu in the year 1989; practiced Law in trial and Revenue Courts, and High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Appointed as Civil Judge Jr. Division/Munsiff in the year 1995; promoted as Sub Judge/Civil Judge Sr. Division in the year 1998 and District & Sessions Judge in the year 2007. Served in all the three divisions of erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir and to mention few, was Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil and Budgam; J&K Eviction Authority (Wakafs); Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bandipora, Ramban, Anantnag, Samba, Kathua and Srinagar; Chairman J&K sales Tax Tribunal; Presiding Officer, Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal, Jammu, Member Secretary J&K State Legal Services Authority. Was appointed as Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh vide Notification No. K. l3021/0l/2020-US.II dated 03rd November, 2021 and took oath of office on 09th November, 2021.
