Justice Suman Shyam

After completing B.Sc (Major) under the Gauhati University obtained LL.B Degree from the J.B. Law College, Guwahati. Enrolled as an Advocate under the Bar Council of Assam etc. w.e.f. 03.09.1996. Practiced mainly on the civil side dealing with civil matters, constitutional matters, arbitration cases and service matters. Occasionally handled election trial as well as criminal matters before the High Court. Appeared before the Gauhati High Court at Principal Seat as well as at the Outlying Benches and Civil Courts on the original side. Functioned as the Secretary of the Indian Law Institute, Assam Chapter, w.e.f. 29.09.2010 till elevation. Appointed as Standing Counsel of the Gauhati High Court at the Principal Seat and also various public enterprises. Elevated as Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court with effect from 07.01.2015.

Appointed as Judge of the Gauhati High Court on 3rd January, 2017.
