Justice Anil Verma

Born on 16th March 1964 at Bilaspur (now at Chattisgarh). He graduated in Science from Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya and in Law attaining the 5th position in the Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University.

 

Inspired by his father Shri K.K.Verma (Retired District & Sessions Judge), he joined Madhya Pradesh Judicial Services in the year 1987, at a young age of 23 years and 5 months, as Civil Judge Class II, Balaghat (M.P.), He was promoted as Civil Judge Class I on 31.12.1993, and as Chief Judicial Magistrate on 04.06.1997.

 

His Lordship was promoted to Higher Judicial Services on 04.09.1998. He was granted Selection Grade on 10.10.2007 and Super Time Scale on 01.12.2015.

 

In course of his service spanning over 33 years, his Lordship has served at variety of positions at the Registry of Hon'ble High Court, Secretariat of Government of Madhya Pradesh as well as at several District & Sessions Courts.

 

At the Indore Bench of High Court of Madhya Pradesh he has served as the Principal Registrar as well as District Judge (Inspection). He has been posted as the District & Sessions Judge, the Special Judge (under SC/ST Prevention of Atrocity Act) as well as the Principal Judge, Family Court at Sagar.

 

His Lordship has also served as Secretary, Law & Legislative Affairs Department, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.

 

His Lordship has also served as Chairman, District Consumer Forum, Chattarpur. Besides this, he has been also posted as Special Judge (under N.D.P.S. Act, Prevention of Corruption Act and Electricity Act) at variety of fora at districts of Chhindwara, Narsinghpur, Rajnandgaon, Umaria.

 

Continuing the patriotic legacy of his grandfather Late Shri Motilal Verma, an eminent freedom fighter, his Lordship has also authored several books on cultural and national history of India. These books include Ajeya Krantrikari Rajguru, Sataar Tat Aur Azaad, Bhagat Singh Ke Saathi Batukeshwar Dutt, Wo Chaar Zabaanj Krantikari. Cricket Khelna Seekhe is also a celebrated piece of work authored by him. He has also made praiseworthy contribution in the book "Judicial History & Courts of Madhya Pradesh" published High Court of Madhya Pradesh.

 

His Lordship administered oath of the office of Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh on 25.06.2021.
