SKILLS ACQUIRED AS A LAWYER
In Oct 1990, entered into practice as a third-generation lawyer. Throughout remained in active and regular practice in the Hon’ble High Court of Himachal Pradesh at Shimla.
Initially, practiced in all fields of law, however, from the onset of the present millennium, focused primarily on Criminal law.
Provided assistance to the Hon’ble Judges by routinely making synopsis and judicial precedents delivered by the larger bench strength.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS AS A LAWYER
March 2010 - Presented Paper in a workshop on “NDPS Act and related issues,” organized by Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy at Himachal Institute of Public Administration, Fairlawns, Shimla.
2013- Addressed the officers of Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy on the topic, “An overview of the latest amendments in the rape laws”.
2014 -Apprised the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India regarding various particulars of “Process Re-engineering (Criminal)”- as a team member of Criminal Process Re-Engineering Team, H.P. High Court, Shimla, Jan 24, 2014.
2015 -Authored a Research Paper titled “An Analysis of Recent Amendments in Sexual Offences Laws of India,” published in 2015(6) R.A.J.
2019-Designated as Senior Advocate on March 29, 2019.
Delivered lecturers to law students in HP University Institute of Legal Studies, Ava lodge, Shimla.
Approximately 500 judgments of the cases argued by me have been published in various law journals.
Offered internships with decent stipends to more than 50 students hailing from different law schools of the country.
JUDGE OF HIGH COURT OF HIMACHAL PRADESH
May 30, 2019 appointed as a Judge at the High Court of Himachal Pradesh.
July 28, 2019- Delivered lecture in HP Judicial Academy, on the topics, “Overview of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985,” and “Latest Judicial Trends in NDPS Cases,” to District and Sessions Judges, Additional District and Sessions Judges, Superintendents of Police and Public Prosecutors.
Appointed one hundred and two lawyers as Amicus Curiae and Legal Aid Counsel, out of which, sixty were women.
Had four Research Assistants-cum-Law clerks, all of whom were women.
Offered internships to fifteen students, out of which, six were women.
JUDGE OF HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB & HARYANA
Oct 5, 2021, transferred to Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Oct 12, 2021, took oath and joined as a Judge in High Court of Punjab & Haryana.
