Justice Pankaj Mithal
Justice Pankaj Mithal was born on 17th June,1961.Graduated in Commerce from Allahabad University in the year 1982 and passed L.L.B. from Meerut College, Meerut affiliated to Ch. Charan Singh University in the year 1985.Enrolled as an advocate in Bar Council of U.P. in the Year 1985.Practised in the Allahabad High Court from 1985.Worked as Standing Counsel, U.P. Avas Evam Vikas Parishad Lucknow since 1990 till elevation to Bench and as Standing Counsel of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra since 1990 to February 2006. Elevated as Additional Judge on 07/07/2006. Took oath as permanent Judge on Jul 02, 2008. Appointed as Chief Justice of Common High Court for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh vide notification No.K.13021/02/2020-US.II dated 31st of December,2020 and took oath of office on 4th of January, 2021.
Transferred as Chief Justice Rajasthan High Court on 14th October, 2022.He is Governor's nominee to the Executive Council of Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut.He is a trustee of Etawah Hindi Sewa Nidhi and the founder trustee of Justice Narendra Nath Mithal Memorial Foundation, atrust established by his mother in memory of his late father.Elevated to the Supreme Court on 6th February, 2023 and is due to retire on 16th June, 2026.
