Dr. Justice Kauser Edappagth

Born on 25/5/1968, Justice Dr.Kauser Edappagath did his early education at M.M.Uloom U.P.School, Kannur, Government City High School, Kannur and Sir Syed College, Taliparamba. After graduating in law from the Government Law College, Calicut in 1990, he set up legal practice at his own district, Kannur. In 1997, he formed a Law Firm, MK Associates, along with Justice A.Muhamed Mustaque. In 1999, he took LLM in Law of Contracts from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. The practice was extended to High Court as well in the year 2002. He has finished International Accredited Mediation Training Course conducted jointly by Mediation Council, U.K., ADR Chamber, U.K. and Hamline University, School of Law in association with Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation in 2005. ln 2009, he was directly recruited from the Bar as District and Sessions Judge. ln 2012, he was awarded Doctorate (Ph.D in Law) by the lndian Law Institute, New Delhi. He served as Additional District and Sessions Judge at Thiruvananthapuram, Additional District and Sessions Judge/Forest Tribunal at Kozhikode and as Special Judge, CBl/NIA and Principal District and Sessions Judge/STAT, Ernakulam. He has attended and presented paper in International Family Law Conference organized by the International Islamic University of Malaysia in 2007 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A number of his articles have appeared in leading publications. He has authored the book “Divorce and Gender Equity in Muslim Personal Law of India" published by Lexis Nexis in 2014. He was sworn in as Additional Judge of the High Court of Kerala on 25/2/2021.
