Justice K. Babu

Born on 8.5.1964 at Thevannoor, Ayoor in Kollam District. Had schooling in Government High School, Thevannoor. After obtaining Post Graduate Degree in Economics from the University of Kerala, secured LLB Degree, as a student of the Govt. Law College, Thiruvananthapuram. Obtained LLM Degree from the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Enrolled on 20th March 1994 and practiced at Kottarakara and Kollam. Dealt with cases in different branches of law, the area of prominent practice being in civil law. Joined Kerala Higher Judicial Service as District & Sessions Judge in 2009. Served as Additional District Judge at Thalassery, Pathanamthitta and Kottayam and Special Judge (SPE/CBI) at Ernakulam. while working as Additional District Judge and Special Judge (SPE/CBI), served as Special Commissioner, Sabarimala. Posted as Registrar (Subordinate Judiciary) on 8.7.2016. Appointed as Registrar (Officer on Special Duty) in the Supreme Court of India. Served as Principal District Judge, Thiruvananthapuram till 24.2.2021. Was the Chairman of the Supreme Court appointed Committee of the Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple, while serving as Principal District Judge, Thiruvananthapuram. Sworn in as Additional Judge of the High Court on 25.2.2021.
