Justice L. Victoria Gowri

Smt.Lekshmana Chandra Victoria Gowri was born on 21.05.1973 at Kanyakumari District. She did her schooling in Little Flower Girls Higher Secondary School at Nagercoil. She did her B.A., B.L., (5 years course) in Madurai Law College. She got enrolled as an Advocate on 27.09.1995. Her father Shri.R.Lekshmana Chandra worked as a Lecturer in English Literature at Government Arts College, Karur. Her mother Tmt.Sarojini Chandra is a Home Maker. Her paternal grand-father is Late Thiru.L.Ramachandra Nadar, who was the father of Co-operatives in Kanyakumari District. Her paternal grand-mother Smt.Victoria Ramachandran was the Co-Chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Social Welfare Board in 1960's.

Initially in the year 1995, she joined the office of Advocate Maniraj at Karur and the offices of Mr.J.Fletcher, Former Bar Council Member, Advocate Krishnamurthy and Advocate Mahadevan Pillai. She started her Legal Firm, VVictory Legal Associates in the year 1998 at Nagercoil. Later she expanded her practice to Madras High Court - Madurai Bench. She has appeared in the High Court of Madras and Madurai Bench in Original side, Appellate side and Writ side and also conducted trials both Civil and Criminal, in all the Courts of Subordinate Judiciary at Kanyakumari District. She served as a Service Provider for the District of Kanyakumari during the period 2006-2010 under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. During 2017-2020, she served as an Independent Director of Kamarajar Port Limited, Ennore, Chennai. She had been a panel lawyer of State of India, UCO Bank and LIC Housing Finance Limited. She represented India in the year 2014 in the International Visitor Leadership Programme sponsored by the Government of United States of America and attended a month long leadership program at USA. From 2015 to September 2020, she served as a Central Government Senior Panel Counsel before the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court. From September 2020 to 2022, she served as a Special Public Prosecutor of CBI. From 09.09.2020 till her elevation as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court, she served as the Deputy Solicitor General of India before the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court. She is the first woman to be appointed in the post of Deputy Solicitor General of India in the Madras High Court. Her husband Er.T.Thulasi Muthu Ram is serving as the Maintenance Manager at Kanam Latex Private Limted at Ananda Nadarkudiiruppu, Nagercoil. She is blessed with two daughters, namely, Dr.T.V.Vasantha Bharathy and Kumari.T.V.Soorya Gayathri.
