Justice Abdul Quddhose

Born on 08.09.1969 at Cumbum, Theni District. Did his schooling upto Xth Standard at Vanavani Matriculation Higher Secondary School, IIT Campus, Chennai and thereafter at Boston Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Nandanam, Chennai upto XIIth Standard. He studied 5 year Bachelor of Law Course at Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai. He is a third generation Lawyer having got himself enrolled as a Member of the Tamil Nadu Bar Council on 31.03.1993. His father is Justice A. Abdul Hadi (Retd.), a former Judge of the Madras High Court and his paternal grandfather is late S.K.Ahmed Meeran who was a Member of Parliament in the 1950s and a Member of the Madras Bar for more than 50 years and was also a Freedom Fighter. Initially, in April, 1993, he joined the Office of Mr.S.Sampath Kumaar, Senior Advocate of M/s.Sampath Kumaar & Associates as a Junior and had wide experience in all branches of Civil Laws. In September, 1994 started his independent practice along with Mr.S.Vasudevan and Mr.K.Krishnaswamy and continued to practice along with them till his elevation as a Judge of the Madras High Court on 28.06.2017. He has more than 24 years of active practice in all branches of Commercial Laws predominantly in the Original Side of the Madras High Court with specialization in Arbitration and Admiralty Law. He has appeared in High Court, Madras in Original Side, Appellate Side and Writ Side and also conducted trials before the High Court and Subordinate Courts and some of the cases have also been reported in various Law Journals. He has also appeared in many Arbitrations.

 

He has advised various Corporate Houses which includes Manufacturing Companies, Trading Houses, Banks, Non-Banking Financial Institutions and Shipping Companies both in India and Abroad.

 

He was a Member of the Maritime Law Association of Singapore and The Committee Maritime - India (CM-I), Indian Maritime Law Association and he has participated in various Maritime Law Conferences / Seminars both in India and Abroad including the Asian Maritime Law Conference at Singapore during the years 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and also the International Maritime Law Conference at New York, USA.
